It\u2019s that time of year again where we get to kick off the holiday season by celebrating Thanksgiving with friends and family. It\u2019s also that time of year where photographers are presented with various opportunities because of all the festive nature, and all the decorations that come out in full force. As photographers, we can capture the memories that invoke emotions which will be enjoyed for years to come.<\/p>\n

With all the chaos that goes on in the home before the meal begins, it\u2019s sometimes difficult to capture that perfect picture. We\u2019ve put together some ideas that will help you capture the moment over Thanksgiving.<\/p>\n

Set up the Scene<\/strong>
\nLet\u2019s be honest, the kitchen is probably the worst place to hang out in before Thanksgiving dinner begins. It\u2019s time to set up the scene. Gather everyone before the meal starts and bring them over to the freshly set Thanksgiving Table. Don\u2019t forget to get a great shot of the beautifully-set table before everyone digs in!<\/p>\n

Zoom in on the Details<\/strong>
\nThanks to Instagram, we\u2019re all pros at taking shots of our lunches. But, this is Thanksgiving. This is the big leagues! This is the one time a year you\u2019ll be taking photos of the turkey, wine glasses and pumpkin pie. You want to go in for that dramatic impact. Grab your zoom lens and get to work.<\/p>\n

Be on Call<\/strong>
\nSet your camera for taking action shots. Carving the turkey is a great example. Then, look around the table and capture some candid shots. This is where you can catch your family enjoying being together, without noticing there\u2019s a camera there. These priceless moments can be captured and cherished for years to come.<\/p>\n

Thanksgiving is the time we are most thankful for what we have. It\u2019s a time where we celebrate with a family gathering. Be prepared to snapping pictures the moment the first guest arrives. It\u2019s just you and the camera out there, so remember to have fun!
