Lucky for us, we were able to interview the Wanderers team before the conference and get a behind the scenes look at what went into creating this amazing event that you won’t want to miss out on.

So without further ado, here’s Andres Parro.

Who is behind Wanderers and how did it begin?

Wanderers starts with Andrés Parro (head of Bodaf Europe) and an idea for a community for wedding photographers. He teamed up with Domingo Algaba, designer and photographer, Marcos Sanchez, a wedding photographer and later with Ross Tanner, head of Flo Agency. Together we shaped and expanded the idea into a big educational platform that will help photographers connect and grow.

Can you tell me more about the Wanderers Community?

We are starting with an online conference, but that’s just the beginning. We are launching our main platform soon, and it will be a place to connect with like-minded photographers from over the world and learn from the best minds in the industry. We have learned through years of experience that our industry grows when we share and we work together instead of against each other, and we want to make that happen on a large scale.


Photography conferences are usually held on a local level, how did you come up with the idea of an online conference for wedding photographers?

We’ve been organizing conferences for 7 years now and there’s always people who can’t come. Like you say, education so far has mostly been local. We wanted to give access to those who can’t go to a conference where Sara Byrne, Fer Juaristi or Greg Finck speak.

Can anyone tune in to the online conference? What do they need to do?

Tickets are already sold out, but we’ll have all the videos in our platform when it launches in a few weeks for those who missed it. And all you need is an internet connection.


What if they’re not in the same time zone?

We’re starting at a time that works for a big part of the world: morning – midday in America, afternoon – evening in Europe. Videos will be available after the conference for all users to watch again, so if you missed part you can always watch it later.

What can those expect to gain from your conference?

We have planned the conference with a strong educational vocation. We want our members to learn from the classes, and that’s why we talked to our speakers and proposed topics to them so the classes have a very specific topic they can discuss and go deep instead of having a general talk about their work. We have talks about SEO, how to be successful in a saturated market, how to incorporate film into your business, how to shoot destination, how to improve and get out of your comfort zone… Many interesting topics that we’re sure will be helpful and inspiring for many people.


Tell me a bit about the speakers. How did you get such an awesome lineup?

We’re very lucky to count with such a talented group of people. Some are friends, others we’ve worked with or know for some time. So it was easy to contact them and they all were very excited about the project and have been really helpful and committed, so we can’t be happier about them.

Will the videos be archived so I can watch them at a later time?

Sure! All the content will be integrated with our platform, so all the users that bought a ticket will have access to all the videos.


Is there anything else we need to know?
